In Dissolution, the boundary between form and formlessness ceases to exist.

What appears at first glance as cascading petals — perhaps the innermost layers of a peony or a tulip at the precise moment of opening — reveals itself, upon deeper looking, to be something far more intimate: the anatomy of transformation itself.

I worked entirely within a monochromatic blue world — from the deepest midnight navy to the palest glacial white — stripping away the distraction of color so that only movement and light remain. Every fold is a decision. Every shadow, a surrender.

This is the painting of a thing becoming. Not the before. Not the after. The exact, trembling middle.

The swirling organic forms carry the tension of something tightly held finally releasing — petals that are also wings, also waves, also breath. The eye finds no single anchor point; instead it travels, endlessly, through passages of darkness into sudden brilliance, only to dissolve again. This is intentional. You are not meant to arrive. You are meant to move.

Dissolution speaks to anyone who has stood at the threshold of who they were and who they are becoming — and felt both the grief and the grace of that undoing.
